In April 26 of this year, Out Magazing released their annual Power List: a list of 65 of the most influential LGBT people who seem to constantly affect social and cultural attitudes. The number one spot, not surprisingly, was assigned to Tim Cook, Steve Job’s successor and the current CEO of Apple. Falling further down the list were TV personalities including Ellen DeGeneres, Rachel Maddow, and Andy Cohen. The list also included a plethora of fashion designers, which included Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs. Though there are far too many political figures to name each of them, a few who made it onto the list include U.S. Representative Tammy Baldwin, New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, and Founder and President of Freedom to Marry, Evan Wolfson. Other notable mentions on the list include businessman Ken Mehlman, CNN News Anchor Don Lemon, and actress Jane Lynch.
