Are you an LGBT blogger or LGBTQ social media activist? If you are, Salon LGBTQ recently announced some big news that you’re probably interested in: this year, they will hold the first ever conference for gay and lesbian bloggers and professional LGBT social media influencers. The conference, held on October 17th-19th, will feature speakers, offer plenty of networking opportunities, and will have plenty of great parties to attend.

Ticket sales started on Monday, April 8th, with the early bird base price at just $295.00 (plus $8.37 in fees). After April 30th, however, the price jumps up to $375.00 (plus $9.95 in fees). Salon LGBT: The Inclusive Social Media Conference will be held at the Renaissance Midtown in Atlanta, Georgia.

What better way to celebrate the diverse set of voices that makes up LGBT bloggers and social media professionals? The opportunity to see speakers, interact with each other in the real world, and forge personal connections is what makes this conference an invaluable experience.

“This year is a defining moment of power and influence for LGBT social media leaders,” said Deb Rex, Salon LGBTQ founder and business strategist. “The Salon is a must-attend event for any LGBTQ blogger or social media professional leveraging online platforms to create change, build community, share content or craft professional advancement, as well as for marketers who want to reach loyal LGBT audiences and their allies.”

Times are changing, and through social media we can easily see when ideas catch fire—such as the profile picture change to the HRC’s logo on the day the Supreme Court heard arguments for and against Proposition 8 and DOMA. A reported 2.7 million people changed their pictures. Just that simple action made a powerful statement.

If such a tiny thing can make that big of a difference, imagine what bringing together hundreds of LGBTQ bloggers and social media influencers will do. We think it’s something you won’t want to miss out on.
